Suttle Stone Quarries are seeking applications for a HGV/Commercial technician to carry out service and repair on a range of HGV’s, LCV’S and plant machinery.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like some more variety in their work. For the right candidate there is potential for additional training to further your continuous professional development.
The candidate should be qualified to NVQ L3 in HGV and have at least 5 years’ experience in the trade. They will be highly organised, conscientious and a great team-player with a strong work ethic, completing jobs to industry standard along with all associated documentation.
The role includes:
- Pre MOT and 6 weekly inspections to a high standard
- Fault finding – proficiency in carrying out fault finding and subsequently repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Written & verbal reports on faults, repairs, maintenance whilst maintaining good communication with your line manager
- Undertaking duties as directed by a line manager and senior management
- Working alongside and assisting those in the workshop when required
- Company van and fuel card will be provided for company use
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability to work to maintenance programme timescales/deadlines
- An appropriate medical standard for the positions, lots of lifting and intensive manual work is part of the role
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk managements, COSHH awareness
- Full UK HGV driving license
- Willingness to attend out of hours breakdowns (rare but possible)
