A308 London Road Stanwell
This project was completed for regional civil engineering contractor, Mildren Construction, and involved the installation of a kingpost wall to a boundary on a busy arterial highway within the M25.
Augering 450mm diameter bores to 4m depth, we installed 111 number 254 x 254 universal columns to form the structure for a 220m kingpost wall. A high-quality alignment was achieved by utilising side grip piling equipment and a laser survey unit.
The bores were hollow stem injected with concrete with the company’s own Klemm 708-2 segmental flight auger drilling rig. Its compact dimensions and limited weight provided the ideal tool to work safely, quickly and accurately in this confined situation. Steel columns were delivered over length to better accomplish accurate pitching, and then trimmed to level. The wall was completed with non-standard pre-cast panels complete with drainage apertures for long term wall stability.
