We’re proud to share that Suttle Stone Quarries and Suttle Projects have officially signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

The signing took place on Friday 27th June, coinciding with the end of Armed Forces Week – a national campaign celebrating the contribution of service personnel, veterans, reservists, and military families. Representing both companies, Livvy Williams, Head of Compliance at Suttle Projects, signed the covenant alongside Lt Col Ant Sharman, who signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a nationwide pledge to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly and with respect in the communities, economy, and society they dedicate themselves to. By signing, we formally commit to providing fair opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and meaningful support for members of the military community.

This commitment carries particular importance for us at Suttle Stone Quarries and Suttle Projects. Several of our colleagues have close personal connections to the Armed Forces; whether through previous service, reservist roles, or family ties. We fully recognise the valuable skills, experience, and unique perspectives that serving personnel and veterans bring to the workplace, and we’re determined to create an environment where they and their families feel welcomed, supported, and valued.

Speaking after the event, Livvy Williams commented:
“This is an important step for both companies. Many of our colleagues have close links to the Armed Forces, and we believe it’s essential to formally recognise and support the unique contribution that service personnel, veterans, and their families make to both our business and the wider industry.”

The signing of the covenant is part of our wider commitment to promoting inclusion, opportunity, and wellbeing across our workplaces. It also supports our ongoing recruitment and retention initiatives aimed at attracting talented individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, including those with military experience.

We look forward to building on this commitment and continuing to play our part in supporting the Armed Forces community.
