New Plant Investment at Swanworth Quarry
We’re pleased to share that Suttle Stone Quarries have made a significant investment in our plant fleet, as part of the ongoing developments at our Swanworth Quarry extension. We’ve recently welcomed two brand-new Komatsu HM300-5 articulated dumper trucks to the site, replacing an older Volvo model and increasing our production capacity as we continue to grow.
The arrival of the new machinery follows the successful move into the newly opened extension area, where demand for increased material movement has quickly picked up. The Komatsu dumpers have already made a noticeable impact, getting straight to work transporting substantial quantities of material across the site.
This latest investment is part of our wider commitment to regularly upgrading our plant and integrating the latest technology, helping us to improve operational efficiency and deliver the best possible service for our customers. The new dumpers come equipped with advanced features designed for demanding quarry environments, offering improved safety, productivity, and environmental performance.
Simon Clabburn, our Director of Quarrying, commented:
“Investing in modern, efficient plant is a vital part of how we continue to deliver a high-quality service to our customers. The move into the new extension area has increased production demands, and these new Komatsu dumpers are already proving their worth, moving serious tonnes across the site with ease.”
At Suttle Stone Quarries, we’re proud of our reputation for investing in both people and equipment to secure the long-term sustainability of our operations. The Swanworth Quarry extension represents a major milestone for us, securing additional reserves and ensuring we can continue to meet the needs of local and regional construction markets for years to come.
This plant upgrade follows a series of recent investments across both our quarrying and contracting divisions, as we continue to build on our position as a trusted supplier of quality stone and aggregate products throughout Dorset and the surrounding areas.
