On Friday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting a very special surprise party in Swanworth Quarry to celebrate our Chairman, Chris Suttle, on his 75th birthday!

The Suttle family’s connection with quarrying spans almost a century, and Chris’s vision, determination and leadership have played a significant role in shaping both our business and the local industry over the past five decades. At just 25 years old, Chris established the business that has grown into the company we are proud to be today, making 2026 a particularly special year as it marks not only Chris’s 75th birthday, but also an incredible 50 years since he began quarrying in the Isle of Purbeck.

The celebration brought together employees and their families for an unforgettable evening in the heart of Swanworth Quarry. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on everything that has been achieved, not only by Chris, but by everyone who has played a part in the success of Suttle Stone Quarries over the years.

The loyalty and commitment of our employees has always been something we are incredibly proud of, with several members of our team having been with us for more than 40 years. Their dedication is a true testament to the strong relationships and shared values that have helped define Suttle Stone Quarries from the very beginning.

Friday’s celebration was a fantastic success and a wonderful opportunity to bring the whole team together to celebrate our heritage, our people and two remarkable milestones.
