Our 100-200mm Dorset Gabion Limestone comes from our Swanworth Quarry in the Isle of Purbeck.

Gabion stone is almost exclusively used together with gabion baskets for a variety of purposes, such as:

• Creating retaining wall solutions
• Flood prevention applications
• Garden landscaping

In landscaping their popularity stems from their clean and modern aesthetic and how simple they are to put together. They are now a staple of designer gardens as retaining walls to create different levels and to create bespoke furniture such as benches.

We can supply everything you need to get started with your gabion project. It is advised to build your gabion baskets on a firm sub-base like compacted Type 1, you then create the ‘face’ of the basket with hand picked pieces of gabion stone that fit together nicely before back-filling the rest of the basket.

Our gabion stone is delivered in bulk bags. Please note each bag weighs approximately one tonne including packaging.
