The Suttle Stone Quarries team are proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone as our Strategic Director, Sue Marshall, marks 28 years with the company.

Sue first joined the Suttle Stone Quarries team in March 1998 straight from school, taking on a role while she decided what direction she wanted to pursue. What began as a temporary step quickly became the start of a career that has spanned nearly three decades and seen Sue grow into one of the most respected and trusted figures within the business.

A Career Built on Commitment and Experience

Over the past 28 years, Sue has taken on a wide range of responsibilities across the organisation, gaining extensive knowledge of both the quarrying and aggregates industry and the wider operations of the business.

Her commitment, adaptability and strong work ethic have seen her progress through the company into her current role as Strategic Director, where she now plays a key part in helping guide the direction of the business.

Working closely alongside our Managing Director and Technical Director, Sue helps shape long-term strategy while supporting the day-to-day leadership of the company.

A Key Part of the Suttle Stone Quarries Team

While Sue’s professional knowledge and experience are widely recognised, she is equally valued for the role she plays in supporting colleagues across the business.

Over the years she has helped team members solve problems, mentored new employees, and shared her knowledge with others entering the industry. Her approachable nature and willingness to help have made her someone that people across the business know they can rely on.

This supportive attitude has helped contribute to the positive and collaborative culture that exists within Suttle Stone Quarries today.

Reflecting on Sue’s journey with the company, Chairman Chris Suttle described appointing her back in 1998 as one of the best decisions he has made.
