Cottage in Gillingham

Overview:

Hayley, the cottage owner, was carrying out an extension on her 200 year old property.  She needed to find matching cropped facing stone, as well as tailor-made lintels, cills, jambs, walling and coping for the garden walling within a tight timeframe.

On the job:

“As the quarry where the cottage stone originated from had closed about 100 years previously, we had to quickly find another quarry that would be able to match the style.  We were also really restricted time-wise as we had to finish the build by a specific date to enable us to move in!  They even delivered the last cill by Land Rover as the lorries had all been booked up just before Christmas.  I’m not sure how Suttles managed it, but they bent over backwards to provide everything in time.”
