Depot at Sevington Rail Facility
The Depot at Sevington, near Ashford, is a Network Rail high output operating base. Its strategic location allows for the importation of construction aggregates through receiving ballast trains to serve the local market. It is therefore a prime location forwhere larger railway track maintenance schemes are loaded and provided with materials to undertake ongoing maintenance of the local rail network. Suttle Projects were tasked with building kingpost walls against which track ballast aggregate could be stored, therefore increasing the storage capacity. Around 248 kingpost piles were installed at the site in total.
