Denmark Hill Station
This project required a trio of piling disciplines to enable and found a new gateline building to the Windsor Walk elevation, at Denmark Hill Station in Camberwell, London. The Gateline Building comprises of an entrance building with a ramped access and canopy, and a connection to the existing overbridge.
Suttle Piling were contracted to undertake the sheet piling, a group of helical bearing piles (screw piling) and finally some restricted access CFA piling. We utilised an excavator to mount different attachments for the sheet piling and the screw piling. The 15m of sheet pile wall installation involved a pre-auger phase to minimise noise and vibration disruption during installation by vibratory side grip hammer.
8 No 115mm stemmed 300mm Helix Screw piles were then installed for bearing to a canopy. This utilised the same base equipment with a torque measuring screw pile attachment to give load assured screw piles.
Finally, on a separate visit we deployed an in house self-contained SFA piling rig to construct 14 No CFA piles, at 300 and 450mm diameters, again for structural bearing to new build elements of the site.
The project gave our client a single delivery contract for three piling disciplines. Through a comprehensive set of RISQS accreditation codes we were able to self-deliver these elements, in proximity to the operational railway, without problem or incident.
