Suttle Projects Ltd was founded in 2008, and is proud of its solid financial and technical base. We undertake a range of civil engineering and piling projects, which include sheet piling, driven piling, CFA piling, and some more general construction work around rivers and railways. Suttle Projects was set up to deliver very technical site-based projects for the long established Suttles group, where the use of particular plant and technical expertise could be of use to our local Dorset civil engineering and groundwork’s customers, or because of its specialist nature could be offered on a more widespread geographical basis. With a history of the Suttle family operating quarrying and other contracting activity since the 1940’s, there is a rich heritage of knowledge and a sound financial base for the new business to build upon.
Our capabilities are founded on two core strengths;
We seek work on Network Rail infrastructure where we feel our “engineering first” approach can be applied and appreciated by clients who want innovation to give safe cost effective construction often in really difficult circumstances. To back this ambition we retain Achilles Link Up accreditation and a 100% PTS trained staff and work force. This has allowed us to be flexible in reacting to requests for emergency works or call out facilities.
We can combine our main contractor management experience with acquired specialist knowledge. We like to offer packages, so that for example we can offer site access for piling plant that is not over engineered, but fully tailored to our particular requirements. Thus as client, it is not your risk or responsibility, and we can utilise our own resources to make adaptions as work proceeds, to save imported material or progress to another phase, without men and equipment waiting or being stood down.
Where Network Rail or Environment Agency schemes require work on water courses, we bring a wealth of working experience, as well as practical measures like plant run with bio-degradable hydraulic circuits, and spill kits and booms in all company vehicles. We understand and work through issues as varied as fish rescue in cofferdams, protection of native species, and the propensity of Knotweed on many of these sites.
We hold a strong belief that safety is about a good positive company culture. Because piling and work around water is always challenging and unique we approach our technical workload with well thought out plans to minimise risk to safety, environment and quality. It is our intention to confine expansion of our activities to a point where this level of detailed control can be retained.
Located in central southern England, we are available locally or nationally for specialist and complex projects.
